Just documenting the ceremony, formal portraits of the couple, and formal portraits of the couple with friends and family. This is what most people think of as the minimum of wedding photography.

CEREMONY AND RECEPTION

All of what's included in the Ceremony package and also photographing the reception. Capturing decor and details. Getting photos of the congratulatory vibes. Speeches from family and friends, and important moments. Photos of folks on the dance floor (if there is one)

FAQ
WHAT IS YOUR APPROACH TO WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY?
A wedding day is filled with many significant, classic moments, but it's also filled with spontaneous in-between moments. To provide you with the best of both worlds, I take a hybrid approach to wedding photography by combining documentary and traditional photography.
Documentary wedding photography means capturing moments as they happen, not directing them. It means capturing tears, laughs, smiles and embraces. By using a documentary approach, I capture candid moments, reactions, and emotions to help record authentic and intimate events at your wedding.
However, there are absolutely classic moments in a wedding where a more hands-on approach is needed. This is where a traditional approach to photography shines. Unlike documentary photography, traditional wedding photography focuses on capturing those classic, timeless photos through more directed posing, with an editorial emphasis on the scene being flattering and perfect. A key example of traditional photography is posed family portraits. When my wife and I were planning our wedding and selecting a wedding photographer, she emphasized how important these portraits were to her and her family. That stuck with me, and I so I treat both documentary and traditional photography with equal importance.
My goal is for your wedding to not feel like a photoshoot. Photography is important, but weddings are about you and the people you love. Through technique, tools, and timing, I will ensure that my photography moves with the flow of your wedding. I’ll never need to block guests’ views to get a photo. If we step away for sunset or couples’ portraits, I will keep that time brief and efficient to make sure you don’t miss any time with your guests. My goal is for my photography to help preserve these moments forever, not to detract from your day.
HOW DO YOU EDIT WEDDING PHOTOS?
My editing style is “true to life”. Maybe a little bit more punchy and bold, but my photos will reflect the day as it was and the decisions you and your fiancee made for your day. I also place significant importance on skin tones being accurate.
WHEN WILL WE GET OUR PHOTOS?
You will receive an online gallery link with all your photos within a maximum 4 weeks after your wedding. You can download all the photos from the gallery but also share them, choose your favorites, and order prints!
Do you require a deposit?
Yes. A 50% retainer/deposit is required to secure the booking. The final 50% is must be paid within 1 week after your wedding.
Payments can be structured differently if an engagement session is booked along with the wedding photography coverage. Booking an engagement session will hold your wedding day until the engagement session's gallery is delivered.
DO WE NEED A SECOND PHOTOGRAPHER?
I can include a second photographer for an additional fee. This varies based on location and what package you choose. Second photographers can be better for larger weddings with +100 guests. They also can provide coverage from different angles to include different perspectives.
HOW MANY PHOTOS WILL WE RECEIVE?
I provide all of the good and/or important unduplicated photos I capture. These photos are organized in a gallery with a highlight section at the top.
As far as numbers go, I typically I deliver about 100 photos for every hour of photography coverage. This can vary depending on locations and number of guests. For example, I may only deliver 100 photos for an intimate 1 hour elopement in one location, whereas I might deliver 2,000 photos during an all day large wedding with multiple locations.
HOW DO YOU ENSURE OUR PHOTOS ARE PROTECTED? HOW DO YOU AVOID TECHNICAL ISSUES?
Many backups all of the time. I use professional cameras that save every photo to dual memory cards. I always have two professional cameras on me during a wedding day and keep an entirely separate photography kit in my vehicle. I also have redundant lights and lenses.
At the end of the day, I press a button on my cameras and photos are immediately uploaded to my at home backup server. When that is finished I pull out the memory cards, and copy them to my workstation to begin editing. Those SD cards get put in a fireproof safe and are not reused until after I deliver the gallery.
During my editing process I am constantly backing up my progress to a server at home and an offsite backup solution.
Once I deliver the gallery, those photos are stored there, my at home server, a fireproof safe and an off site backup.
WHAT IF WE WANT FILM PHOTOGRAPHY?
I also shoot on film! I have multiple film cameras with lenses to photograph an entire wedding day on film. When shooting with film, I find the best approach is hybrid film and digital where most of the photos are taken with digital, with every "scene" having a few photos in film. There is an additional charge for film photography.
WHERE ARE YOU BASED AND DO YOU TRAVEL?
I'm based in Southern California and I love to travel! If you want me to photograph your wedding outside of Southern California, it will require a travel fee, depending on where it takes place.
