FAQ
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT IN AN FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION?
Expect a relaxed yet professional atmosphere, where capturing the character of your family is our top priority. I'll spend time in beautiful, carefully chosen locations with great lighting to ensure your photos are stunning. Sessions typically last about 30 minutes to 1.5 hours to keep everyone energized and engaged.
WHEN WILL WE GET OUR PHOTOS?
You will receive an online gallery link with all your photos within 2 weeks of our session. During the holidays when it's very busy I adjust my schedule to provide galleries in 1 week. You can download all the photos from the gallery but also share a link to the gallery, choose your favorites, and also order prints!
WHEN IS THE BEST TIME FOR OUR FAMILY SESSION?
Entirely depends on the light and the location! If it's a clear day, and we are meeting at the beach, sunset is the best time. A park with lots of tree cover, 40 minutes before sunset will probably be best. A cloudy day anywhere? Afternoons are perfect! If you have a location, I can help with finding the best time for the weather and sunlight.
WHERE WILL OUR PHOTO SESSION TAKE PLACE?
We will select locations based on their natural beauty, light conditions, and accessibility for families. Being in Southern California, we have a tremendous amount of options. Before your session, we'll discuss options and decide on the best location that suits your family's style and the desired backdrop for your photos.
HOW MANY PHOTOS WILL WE RECEIVE?
Typically around 50-200. It entirely depends on the location, outfits, and how long you want the session to be. A session at the beach right at sunset will typically yield around 50 photos, whereas a session with multiple outfits at a large park/arboretum/zoo could generate hundreds.
HOW CAN WE PREPARE OUR CHILDREN FOR THE SESSION?
Inform your children about the session in a positive way, explaining that it will be a fun experience. Make sure they are well-rested, and fed. Bringing along a favorite toy or snack to help keep them comfortable is not a bad idea.
HOW DO YOU KEEP CHILDREN ENGAGED DURING THE SESSION?
I understand that children have limited patience and attention spans, so I keep the session moving with a variety of poses and activities. We'll play games, tell stories, and use other techniques to capture their natural smiles and expressions.
WHAT IF SOMEONE IS SICK AS WE APPROACH THE SESSION DATE?
If someone is unwell, it's best to reschedule. We want everyone to look and feel their best in the photos, and health comes first. Due to all of different things that can happen I am very flexible with family session. Please contact me as soon as possible to arrange a new date.
